Service-Learning is a method under which students learn and develop through active participation in thoughtfully organized service that meets the needs of a community. Service-Learning helps foster civic responsibility; is integrated into and enhances the academic curriculum of the students and includes structured time for the students and participants to reflect on the service experience.

UMC's Service Learning office is trying to track or measure the amount of learning that occurs during a Service Learning project. The simplest approach is to ask students, faculty, and community partners to fill out evaluation surveys
