SINGER/SONGWRITER PETER MAYER - Will perform Thursday, November 18th at 7:00 p.m. in the Eagle's Roost. STUDY ABROAD FAIR - has been rescheduled to Wednesday, November 17, 1999 for 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Bede Ballroom. Presentations will be made by Kerstin Trimble (Denmark) and Christy Ungerecht (Australia) on their experiences studying abroad. Study Abroad opportunities and scholarship information will also be available.

THANKSGIVING DINNER - will be served November 18, 1999 in Brown Dining from 10:30 - 1:30 PM.

USELESS FACT OF THE DAY - People who laugh a lot are much healthier than those who don't. Laughing lowers levels of stress hormones, and strengthens the immune system. Six-year-olds have it best - they laugh an average of 300 times a day. Adults only laugh 15 to 100 times a day.

STUDENT/STAFF DIRECTORIES NOW AVAILABLE-Students living off campus can pick up a student/staff directory at the Office of the Registrar in Selvig Hall (one per residence please). On-campus students should have already received their student directory from their RA.

TRIVIA— As promised two winners have been selected to receive a free movie pass to the Grand Theater. Last weeks winners are Will Meine and Nathan Rudolph: A lot of you knew Pearl Harbor was bombed on December 7, 1941. Many of you had the day correct, but the wrong year. Here is your chance to try again. This week’s trivia question is: A girl who was named Norma Jean when she was born changed her name when she got older, what did she change it to? Write your answer on a slip of paper along with your name and e-mail address and drop it off in the box located at the Bede Information Desk by 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. We will draw a winner from the correct answers. The winner's names will appear in next week’s Regal’s Report.

AA MEETING – Alcoholic’s Anonymous will meet every Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in SCC 131.

MEET YOUR STUDENT FORUM MEMBERS – This week’s member is: Annette McNamme. Annette is a junior, majoring in Early Childhood. Her hometown is Mahnomen. Annette is the chair of the Committee on Committees. She also serves on the Curriculum Committee, Student Conduct Committee and the Sexual Assault Task Force. Annette is the club Senator for Ag Arama, Ag Industries and Agronomy clubs. Annette is in charge of making sure all committees on campus have the proper number of student representatives at each meeting. If students have any suggestions or questions about these committees contact Annette.

FREE DIABETES SCREENING - The Community Nutrition Practicum class will be conducting Diabetes screenings on Thursday, November 18, 1999 in SCC 131 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. The screening is free.

RIVER FORKS COMMISSION ANNOUNCES FIRST ANNUAL DOWNTOWN LIGHT PARADE - The River Forks Commission, the North Valley Arts Council, and Results Radio are sponsoring a light parade to be held in the newly remodeled downtown area. The parade will be a celebration of the progress the city has made downtown and to highlight the holidays. There will be prizes for the best and most creative floats. The parade will be held in both the Grand Forks and East Grand Forks downtown areas. This event is scheduled for Sunday, December 5, 1999 at 6:00 PM. Anyone in the region is invited to participate. For information and a registration form please contact the North Valley Arts Council in Grand Forks at (701) 746-4732. Application must be received at the North Valley Arts Council Office by Saturday, November 20.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY - Each year the Minnesota Women's Center of the University of Minnesota administers the Carol E. Macpherson Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance for women students who are over the age of 28 and are returning to school after a five year or more absence. The awards this year will range from $500 to $4,000. If you feel you may qualify for this scholarship and want more information stop by and see Meloni in Bede 106.
