ADOLESCENT ISSUES/EATING DISORDERS PRESENTATION – Alicia Haviland, Registered Nurse and Coordinator of the Adolescent Issues/Eating Disorders Program at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, will be presenting "Losing Weight is One Thing. Losing Your Perspective is Another." Ms. Haviland’s presentation will focus on prevention, intervention, and treatment of eating disorders Monday, October 25th, 7:00 PM, Bede Ballroom. This event is free and open to the public. Contact Stacey Grunewald, 8512 for more information.

IMMUNIZATION CLINIC – Polk County Public Health will be on campus Tuesday, October 26th, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in SCC 131 for an Immunization Clinic. Students immunization records must be on file at student health and compliant with Minnesota State Law in order to be able to register for spring semester. Tetanus (Td) and Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) booster shots will be given to those students needing one to comply with this law. This is free for students.

THE COLOR OF FEAR – A dialogue on race will be Tuesday, October 26th from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Bede Ballroom. This event is to facilitate a dialogue on the effects of race, fear and privilege in American. The evening will consist of a video and discussion. You should plan on attending the entire three(3) hour event. If you want more information or would like to attend please contact Mario at 8508.

HALL OF HORRORS – Haunted House will be Friday, October 29th from 4-5:30 for small children and 6:30 – 10:00 for everybody else and Saturday, October 30th from 3-5:30 for small children and 6:30-11:00 for everybody else. The haunted house will again be held in 3rd floor Bede Hall. The cost is $2.00 with proceeds going to Violence Intervention Program and Habitat for Humanity. Tickets can be purchase in advance at the Bede Info Desk or at the door. Hall of Horrors is sponsored by Residential Life and Cahoots Costumes.

TRIVIA— Erica Franklin had the only correct answer to this week’s trivia question. She can stop by and pick up her movie pass from Pam in Bede 120 or Meloni in Bede 106. The answer to: What was the profession of the man who invented the electric chair? – He was a dentist. And now you know that too. This week’s trivia question is: What is the only animal that can not jump? Write your answer on a slip of paper along with your name and e-mail address and drop it off in the box located at the Bede Information Desk by 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. We will draw a winner from the correct answers. The winner’s name will appear in next week’s Regal’s Report.

WANT TO BE SCARED ON HALLOWEEN? - Bede Lounge will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on October 31, 1999 to allow students to watch the Minnesota Vikings take on the Denver Broncos. Could anything possibly be scarier that that?

JOKE OF THE WEEK – Coming home from his Little League game, Billy swung open the front door very excited. Unable to attend the game, his father immediately wanted to know what happened. "So, how did you do son?" he asked. "you’ll never believe it!" Billy said. "I was responsible for the winning run!" "Really? How’d you do that?" "I dropped the ball."

FREE TICKETS AVAILABLE – Free tickets are available to UMC students wishing to attend the Crookston Civic Music League events for the 1999-2000 season. The Marlins (A Family Variety Show) will be performing Saturday, November 6th at 7:30 p.m. at the Crookston High School Auditorium. Stop by and see Meloni in Bede 106 if you would like a free ticket or would like information about future performances.

PRINTING PROBLEMS – The Bede Student Printer has been disabled several times this week because not all students have completed the following: A FIX EVERYONE SHOULD PERFORM ON THEIR NOTEBOOKS: -This will help prevent the "Remote DownLevel Document Status: Error-Printing: go into the Command AntiVirus Software (Start-Programs-Command SW-Command Antivirus-Command AntiVirus 95) – Preferences, Active Protection – Uncheck "Scan Network Drives" Please do this fix so the printer is available for everyone to use.

THE LIBRARY - has just added more LAN/Internet connections. Additional connections were added to both the first and second floor of the library. Library hours are: Monday - Thurs 8am -10pm Friday 8am - 4:30pm Saturday 11am - 3pm Sunday 5pm -9pm.

HIV/AID SUPPORT GROUP – meets Fridays from 5-6:30 p.m. in Crookston. Call 1-877-871-4636 (toll free) for more details. Meetings are open to families and partners of persons living with HIV/AIDS as well as persons living with AIDS. This is sponsored by the MnKota Health Project of Moorhead, MN.
