DO YOU HAVE A TALENT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE? -- Dust off the old trumpet, tickle the ivories, practice your scales or sharpen your humor. Trading Places – Open Mic Night will be held September 15th, beginning at 8:00 p.m. in the Eagle’s Roost (Morsels). This event is open to all faculty/staff and students who have a talent they would like to share or who would like to see what others have to offer. Prizes will be given away as follows: $50 First place, $30 Second place and $20 third place. Free non-alcoholic drinks and popcorn served by faculty and staff.
POOL TABLES—The pool tables in the Bede Game Room have now been recovered and leveled! In order to keep them nice we need your help. If you sit on the pool tables it will break the bumpers, if you move the pool tables they become unleveled. Help us keep the pool tables in good condition. NEW TO THE GAME ROOM – Did you know that the game room now has a dart board as well as a new air hockey table? Stop by the Bede Info Desk and sign out the equipment to play these new games.

TRIVIA—
Because the Regal’s Report did not come out until Tuesday last week, we are going to give everybody an extra week to answer last week’s trivia question. Each week a Trivia question will appear in the Regal Report’s. If you think you know the answer, write it on a slip of paper along with your name and e-mail address and drop it off at the Bede Information Desk by Noon on Wednesday. We will draw a winner from the correct answers. The winner will receive a Grand Theater movie pass. The winner’s name will appear in next weeks Regal Reports. This week’s trivia question is: What is the most common first name in the world?
THE SNAKES AND OTHER SLITHERY, SLIMY CREATURES ARE BAAAACK
—The hands-on live reptile and amphibian program "Herps Alive!" will be held on Thursday, September 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Bede Ballroom. "Sonny," 13 foot, a 70 pound Burmese Python; "Dominique," a 4-foot American alligator and more frogs, lizards, salamanders, turtles and snakes than you can shake a stick at – That’s "Herps Alive!!".NEED HELP WITH YOUR STUDIES – Drop-in Tutoring will now be available on Tuesdays in Skyberg Conference Center from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursdays in McCall Hall Basement from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays in Owen 217 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
PAT SURFACE WILL PERFORM – Pat Surface will perform as part of UMC’s Fall Festival on Tuesday, September 21, at 5:30 p.m. on The Mall. Surface is an intergenerational musician, songwriter, singer and storyteller.
MORE ON THE FALL FESTIVAL – Fall Festival will be held September 21 beginning at 4:30 p.m. and ending at 7:30 p.m. The festival will include a picnic supper as well as big games, including human bowling, sumo wrestling, bouncy boxing and the ever-challenging obstacle course. Plan on attending.

LEARN TO DANCE RICKY MARTIN STYLE -- Coming in October Latin and Ballroom dancing will be available to all UMC Students, Faculty and Staff. – A smoking cessation class is being offered by Riverview Healthcare Association on Wednesday, September 15th, 5:00 to 6:00, in the Boardroom at Riverview Hospital. Free Nicotrol patches will be given to those who complete the class. EARN MONEY TAPING TEXTBOOKS ON CAMPUS – UMC is hiring students and other interested persons to tape-record texts for students with disabilities. You will be provided with a tape recorder, tapes, a text, and a course syllabus, and you will earn $6.35/hour. Students who tape must possess strong reading skills, have clear voice quality, and be able to produce materials in a timely way. Interested persons should see Linda Rains in Owen 127 to offer a brief reading sample and learn more. You do not have to be work-study eligible to tape texts.

PARKING -- Ticketing for NO PERMIT began on Tuesday, September 7th. Your parking permit can be purchased from the Business Office in Selvig Hall. You must display a valid permit from your rear view mirror.
