TRIVIA—This week’s trivia winner is Katie Mergenthal. The question was: Where does Homer Simpson Work? The answer a Nuclear Power Plant. She can stop by and pick up her free Grand Theater movie pass from Meloni or Pam. This week’s trivia question is a multiple-choice question: Approximately how many peanuts does it take to make on 12-ounce jar of peanut butter? 500 – 1,500 – 5,000 or 7,800. Write your answer on a slip of paper along with your name and e-mail address and drop it off in the box located at the Bede Information Desk by Noon, Thursday, January 27th. We will draw a winner from the correct answers. The winner's name will appear in the January 31st Regal’s Report.

MEET YOUR STUDENT FORUM MEMBERS – This week’s Forum member is John Rozek. John is a senior majoring in Business Management. John’s hometown is St. Paul, Minnesota. John is the chairperson of SPACE (Student Programming & Activities for Campus Entertainment). John also serves on the Committee-on-Committee for Scholastic Standing and Academic Calendar. John has this to say about his position on the Student Forum "My position is to chair the committee that plans the student activity events on campus. We are responsible for things such as Fall Festival, Homecoming and Snowdaze, as well as weekday and weekend programming. Feel free to contact me or anyone on the SPACE committee if you are interested in assisting with the planning of these types of events."

ATTENTION FEMALE STUDENT BODY – Are you interested in playing Intramural basketball and don’t have a team to play with? Intramurals would like to put together one more women’s basketball team for league play starting in early February. To date only three women’s teams have made registration to play. We need 8-10 female students to fill one more team for intramurals. Please contact IM Director: Kelly Hollands if you are interested.

LAUREN PELON IN CONCERT – Lauren Pelon traces the story of music and instruments throughout history and performs on lute, guitar, lyre, recorders, gemshorns, cornamuse, krummhorn, schreirpfeife, shawm, racket, pennywhistles, concertina, ocarina, hurdy-gurdy, doucaine, psalteries, kiowa courting flute, electronic woodwinds and vocals. Lauren will perform Tuesday, January 25 at 7:00 p.m. in Kiehle Auditorium. Admission is free to all students. All others the cost is $2.00.

OPEN GYM - There will be open gym on Tuesday, January 25 and Thursday, January 27. Open gym is from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

SPRING CANDIDATES FOR GRADUATION—Students intending to graduate spring semester must file an application for degree by January 21st with the Office of the Registrar, One Stop Student Service Center, 170 Owen Hall.

INTERESTED IN PLAYING VOLLEYBALL FOR UMC? Coach Hollands in looking for a few good women interested in playing competitive volleyball for UMC next fall. Spring training is starting and if you are interested you should contact him by email, or at: 8418, ASAP.

Judy Siegle will present "Living a Life that Matters" Wednesday, January 26, 2000 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Sahlstrom Conference Center ABC (Brown Dining Room). Bring your evening meal and join us for an uplifting and though-provoking presentation by a "world-class" athlete. All members of the UMC campus community are invited to attend this presentation. There is no charge to attend.

"SINK OR SWIM" THE 6TH ANNUAL STUDENT SUCCESS FAIR—will be held Wednesday, January 26th from 10 a.m. -1:30 p.m. in the SCC Lobby. Locate campus resources for: academic support, physical fitness & recreation, service learning, financial aid, healthy lifestyle choices, clubs & organizations, social skills/personal growth, study skills, career development, healthy relationships and much more. Enjoy a mocktail, win prizes and just plain have fun.

FROM THE DAIRY CLUB – Jim Roers of West Fargo was the winner of a cow print by Bonnie Mohr Studios in the recent Dairy club raffle.

UMC VOLLEYBALL HOSTS "SUB-ZERO" VOLLEYBALL MIXER—The UMC Volleyball programs will once again be sponsoring their Annual "Sub-Zero" Volleyball Mixer. Coach Kelly Hollands defines the Volleyball Mixer as a blender. "We put all the players into a pool, shake them up and spit them out into equally divided coed teams." Hollands says that it is a fun day for volleyball enthusiast to play volleyball and meet new people who come to the mixer. Thus being the "Mixer" part of the volleyball tournament. The proceeds go to the UMC Volleyball program. The event will be held Saturday, January 29 at UMC’s Sport Center. Registration will be from 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. The cost is $8 per person. Early Registration can be sent to Kelly Hollands.

WANT TO MAKE SOME $$$-- An Ag Industries Tradeshow is being held in conjunction with Ag Arama on January 29, 2000. This is a contest in which students s ell any product to a set of judges. It is similar to an FFA Sales Contest if you are familiar with this. You are responsible for bringing all your needed materials and the time of judging will be determined later according to the number of participants. Please sign up on Paul Aakre’s office door – Owen Hall 190. If you have any questions contact Lisa Detloff or Paul Aakre.

THE 25TH ANNUAL AG-ARAMA WILL BE HELD January 28 –29, 2000—Events scheduled are: Animal Science Showmanship, Round Robin Showmanship, Ag Industries Show, Crop Show Samples on Display, Sweepstake Awards, Awards Presentation, Coronation of 2000 Ag-Arama, Alumni Volleyball, Alumni Social at the Irishman’s Shanty, Dance to "Class Music DJ" at the Armory ($5 cover charge). Games for every one throughout the day including: Obstacle Course, Cow Milking, Guess the Grains, Water Volleyball, Mechanical Bull, Pitchfork Throw, Log Splitting, Cross-Cut, Match Splitting, Fishing, Caber Toss and more…
