CROOKSTON ARTIST SERIES--Bending the Bows--Monday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. Performance will take place in the Crookston High School Auditorium. An uproariously funny show that could make Charlie Chaplin laugh and give Victor Borge the giggles! Violinist Eduard Minevich and fiddler Frank Leahy battle it out in a side-splitting comical performance which sweeps the spectrum of musical styles--country, folk, gypsy, traditional, jazz, swing, and classical. A delightful and at times whimsical blending of seemingly incompatible worlds--from Grand Ol' Opry to Carnegie Hall, from Paris, France to Paris, Texas, from Moscow, Russia to Moscow, Idaho. There's musical entertainment aplenty in this whirlwind program of dueling fiddles. An ever-surprising mingling of Country and Classical--truly gopher baroque. Bending the Bows is comic musical theater at its tickle-the-funnybone best, with a rich diet of humor, drama, story, banter, and musical virtuosity. Student tickets available for $1.00 at the Bede Info Desk.

PHYSICIAN ON CAMPUS--As of October 8, there has been a medical staff member from the Altru Clinic - Crookston Branch on campus every Wednesday from approximately 12:00 - 2:00. This is being done on a trial basis. The physician and physician's assistants (PA) who are here every Wednesday are coming to UMC on what would normally be their afternoon off. They are coming to UMC as a service to the students so they don't have to travel to the clinic if they are ill. If there are no students scheduled, they usually do not stay until 2:00 p.m. That is why it is important for students to call for an appointment if they wish to be evaluated by a physician. Dr. Kanten and the PA's are employees of Altru Clinic and hence are unable to provide services without the student's insurance policy being billed. Altru-Crookston and UMC will evaluate the service at the end of the year to determine 1) whether or not to continue this service and 2) if the service continues what improvements/changes need to be made. Student input is extremely important in this aspect. Any comments or concerns are more than welcomed and can be directed to Stacey at 8512 or Don Cavalier at 8585.
