Welcome to the Business Department at the University of Minnesota, Crookston!

Living and working in the emerging global marketplace requires a good understanding of basic business and marketing principles. And since technology increasingly influences how businesses operate, a strong computer skill base is also a requirement.

The Business Department is the home of the following programs:

  • Accounting
  • Business Management – with emphasis in Marketing, Management, Business Aviation, and Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management
  • Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management – with emphases in Hotel/Restaurant Management, Food Service Administration, and Resort/Spa Management
  • Bachelor of Manufacturing Management (with emphasis in Quality Management)
  • Sport and Recreation Management

UMC's programs in business are designed for students who are preparing to take on managerial and leadership responsibility--both in small business and big business environments. Our programs help students develop their abilities to recognize and solve business and organizational problems and to understand the role of business and entrepreneurship in the local community, the region, the nation, and the world.
