Agriculture Department

Welcome to the University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Agriculture Department.  Recently we have undergone reorganization which has improved our campus structure.  Programs included in the Agriculture Department are Agricultural Business, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Systems Management, Agronomy, Animal Science, Equine Science and A.A.S in Agriculture.  In addition, we are in the process of developing new programs in Facilities Management, Food Safety and Environmental Science.

Our programs of study here in the Agricultural Department at UMC are unique; several are only offered in a few universities across the country.  All programs have dedicated faculty who are skilled in delivering hands-on instruction in the classroom and applying theory to real-world applications. The faculty here in the Agriculture Department at UMC take the time to listen to students and will work with them in one-on-one sessions to advise them through their academic career, and help them make career choices and connections with future employers.

As a UMC student you will be using the latest technology as part of your academic experience to keep in touch with the campus community as well as the world.  In addition, your academic experience may be enhanced by competing in sports or working together in some of the many student organizations on the campus. Our connected campus and friendly atmosphere foster a comfortable feeling of belonging and pride.

If you have any questions, please give us a call at 1-800-UMC-MINN or 218-281-8109.  I will be glad to speak with you about your opportunities at UMC within the Agriculture Department or put you in touch with an instructor in your area of interest.
